Personal Social and Heath Education (PSHE / RSE)

Vision

At Rushall Primary, we are committed to the development of children’s social, emotional skills, children’s self-esteem, their health and well-being. We are committed to developing the children’s responsibilities towards themselves, others in school, the local and global community. This commitment is embodied in the school’s mission statement and aims; it contributes to the positive ethos of the school and guides the systems, policies and ‘day-to-day’ running of the school. PSHE (National Curriculum) and PSED (Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum) are recognised as an important aspect of the curriculum, where teaching and learning focuses on the development of these skills and responsibilities and develop the knowledge and understanding to make informed choices.

PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) is a planned programme of learning through which children and acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to lead a successful, aspirational life, now and in the future.

As part of a whole school approach, PSHE education develops the qualities and attributes pupils need to thrive as ambitious and curious individuals, empathetic family members and resilient members of society.  Through an inspiring and informative curriculum, we endeavour to offer our pupils a range of experiences whilst preparing them to become independent through secondary school, and as adults living in a diverse community and in a challenging world of work.
